In a meeting, are you more of a listener or more of a participant?
If you're looking for a leader, an innovator, and idea generator then you're probably seeking a participant. If you are looking for a task handler, a worker bee, a processor then perhaps the listener is what you need. Then again many of us will want the participant always. We all need to gage the responses we receive here against the department in which this person would work, the leadership that exists, the style of management, and the dynamics that make the team this person would be joining. Some organizations will see a listener as an undesirable candidate. What works for your organization? That will drive the definition for you of the right answer to this question.
